Mikal Waters hails from Melbourne, but found himself in San Francisco in the late '70s, where he joined the punk rock band, Negative Trend. NT are one of the THE great west coast bands of the era, released a classic EP in 1978 and then split in '79 with members going off to form Flipper(!) and the Toiling Midgets. Both Jello Biafra and Henry Rollins will state loudly of the band's profound influence.
Mikal stuck around SF for the next 3 years and then moved back to Melbourne in 1983. He recorded with friends during this period, but then thought he'd lost the tapes for decades. A number of years ago, he discovered them and had the best songs pressed to vinyl, hence this release. Featuring Mikal and members of Roky Erickson's Aliens, Flamin' Groovies, Jim Carroll Band, etc., it's a great collection of punk, power-pop street rock & roll and anthemic tuneage. Dig a slice of history. 200 pressed.
