Asteroid Ekosystem = noted Sydney-based jazz pianist Alister Spence (Laughing Clowns); Ed Kuepper (Saints/Laughing Clowns); Llloyd Swanton (Necks) and drummer Toby Hall. This album is their second, recorded during a run of concerts at the Great Club in Sydney. Asteroid Ekosystem are not jazz, and nor are they rock... and they're not 'jazz-rock', either. They are a wonderful meeting of the minds, mixing exploratory guitar textures, minimalism and jazz improvisation. It seems obvious to say that it comes highly recomended to fans of The Necks and the Laughing Clowns, but it's a truism.
